SELECTED SOUND PROJECTS
CHASHMISH
Project: Short Film
Role: Sound Editor & Re-Recording MixerLogline: In a magical realist Queens, NY, a young Indian girl struggles with her first pair of glasses as she waits to merge with her deceased grandma's soul during the funeral.
Chashmish was a very creatively challenging yet rewarding project to take on as a sound designer. I needed to approach the sound from a child’s perspective, which meant building an incredibly expressive and expansive soundscape to exaggerate both anxieties and happiness alike. I had the freedom to take a very playful approach and really consider how to convey the child’s emotions in a way that would best resonate with the audience.

NIGHT WALKING
Project: Short Film
Role: Production Sound Mixer, Sound Editor, Re-Recording MixerLogline: When Archie disappears one night, nanny and mother must overcome their differences to find him, or both risk losing him forever.
I was responsible for the entirety of the sound for Night Walking as both the on-set production sound mixer and sound designer for the project. From the beginning, I wanted the island’s soundscape to be an active presence in the film. I made sure to capture field recordings while on-set to capture the organic textures and ambiences throughout various parts of the island as the basis for the soundscape. In post-production, I wanted to have variations in the animals and insects we hear depending on the location, time of day, and proximity to water. My goal was to have the audience feel very present in the environment where the island feels alive and is shifting around the characters.

GENEVIEVE MURDER ON THE ROAD TO NOWHERE
Genevieve Murder on the Road to Nowhere
Project: Short Film
Role: Sound Editor, Re-Recording MixerLogline: Genevieve Murder has run away from home. She had, by all accounts, a good life – warm parents and a properly annoying sister. And yet, her existential boredom is inescapable.
I wanted to highlight a particular sound effect I was proud of editing while working on Genevieve Murder on the Road to Nowhere. During the initial spotting session with the director, I understood that the goal was to have a bold impact that punches its way into the moment, yet the sound shouldn’t feel repetitive. I envisioned sounds with metallic textures and heavy gunshots similar to those of a shotgun that almost rips through the forest itself. It was also important to make sure the sounds had some variety yet carried the same sonic identity.
GENEVIEVE MURDER SFX BREAKDOWN
I wanted it to sound powerful, as if they were cannons, and have the final word that lands sound deeper to leave a lasting impression. Overall, I’m very happy with how this sound effect turned out, and that I was able to translate a very specific sonic idea into a cohesive design.

I had split the sound effect into three layers:Layer 1: A metallic slide that creates anticipation before the transient hit.Layer 2: Heavier metallic thumps to introduce weight and texture.Layer 3: Intense gunshots that are the “meat” of the sound effect.

GIRLFAILURE
Project: Webseries
Role: Sound Editor, Re-Recording MixerLogline: After her first-ever breakup, a 20- something actress chaotically stomps through the seven stages of grief - dragging her best friend and new subletter along for the ride.
Girlfailure is a comedy web series produced on a fast weekly release schedule, with new episodes delivered each weekend throughout February. Despite the tight release schedule, I loved every step of the process and the collaboration with the post-production team. With multiple episodes, it was especially important to keep organized and efficient when handing off assets and maintain clear communication to ensure episodes were released on time. The web series itself is grounded in realism, so it was important to focus on the small details in the sound design to help support the comedic moments. One of my favorite parts to edit was the door creaks. It’s such an invisible part of the sound design, but I believe it can go a long way into driving in the awkwardness of some moments.

PERSONAL CREATIVE PROJECTS
THE ARCHIVIST
In the making of The Archivist, I was very inspired by the uncanny visuals that I sometimes come across in collage art. I appreciated how contrasting such mundane images can create incredibly strong visuals that leave an impression on my mind. I wanted to achieve this through editing found footage and combining various stock videos to weave together a world shrouded in mystery and surrealism.

GRASSLANDS
Stopmotion is my favorite form of animation, both to watch and create. I created this short and sweet project out of appreciation for the artform. It's such a labor of love, and I'm someone who loves to craft with my hands. I fabricated the puppets myself and wanted to recreate the image in my mind of an endless grassy field.
